Symptoms of Asthma
As from our earlier articles we know that not all of the symptoms match to a person, but if some of the listed symptoms of asthma matches with your given actual symptoms then, there is a quite possibility that you may be suffering from asthma or may be in the initial stage of asthma.
The function of adrenaline hormone is to relax the wind-pipe muscles. At nights because of imbalance level of the hormone, people find difficult to breath. Corticosteroid’s function is to reduce the inflammation, and it is also observed that the body’s corticosteroids level drops. In such cases it is very essential that you take advice from your family doctor regarding the symptoms seen.
From studies it is seen that 1/3 rd of the women find that the symptoms of asthma worse during their periods. The reason of worse asthma symptoms is again because of the hormonal imbalance. During periods female body goes through hormonal change. Blood is the carrier of oxygen, during severe asthma attack, the oxygen carrying capacity of the blood is reduced. Because of it the person may experience cyanosis. The person may require immediate medical help.
Following are the few list of symptoms of asthma observed:
Breathing problems:
- Shortness of breath
- Breathing out is particularly difficult.
- Hyperventilation
- Wheezing
- Coughing occurs majorly after over-exertion of the body like exercisers.
- As the breathing out is not easy the person feels that the chest is tight.
Nose problems:
- Sinusitis
- Runny nose

It is also seen that people over the duration of time develop asthma due to getting exposed to such potential asthma allergens. These potential asthma allergens are like dust mites, inhaling gases, fumes etc. Some people say that they experience some uneasiness at workplace and the situation improves when out of workplace, this is because the potential allergens didn’t get in contact with the body outside workplace. And if the person is already having asthma then his health situation may even get worse if such substances come in contact with the body.
Asthma Cause
- Direct irritants: Strong pungent smell or even fumes irritates the immune system. The person starts wheezing so it is called irritant reaction and not allergic reaction.
- Long term exposure to asthma allergens: If allergens are coming in touch with the body regularly then slowly that allergen weakens the immune system. The immune system develops allergic antibody, after few years of exposure to such allergens.
- Accumulation of chemicals naturally released by white blood cells.
If the exposure is not too long then there is a fair possibility of getting asthma cleaned from the body. And if the allergen exposure is too long then even if change in workplace or job will not help. So always be alert, and if you find any symptoms of asthma or breathing problem contact your medical consultant and take corrective action. Asthma prevention can also be taken by wearing mask and covering nose from such fumes. If you already have asthma then avoid going to places where there are fumes coming out, gases, dust mites, cotton furs etc.
Asthma
We all have definitely heard about Asthma before. In asthma condition in which the person finds difficulty in breathing. The air tracks become narrower and because of it the air tracks sometimes get chocked. There are many reasons for an Asthma attack. Allergy and asthma both are related to each other. The air tracks of the people having asthma are very sensitive to allergens such as smoke, cold, some sort of infection, chemicals, perfumes, dust, pollution etc. The reaction triggers the blood vessels to swollen and it results in the fluid leak in the body. The mucus is generated and this gets deposited on the walls of the air track. Because of such deposition the air track becomes narrow and becomes even more difficult to breath normally. This even causes bronchi to get chocked up. Due to the above activities the person suffering from asthma experiences suffocation and to come out of it the person may even cough or wheez.
The cause of sticky mucus getting produced is because of the chemical mediators released by eosinophils and neutrophils (eosinophils and neutrophils are type of white blood cells) damaging the lining of the air track. It is observed during the asthma attack that the breathing out takes much longer time because of the narrowing of the wind pipe. Some people say that they have very mild symptoms of asthma during a particular period, and sometimes there are no asthma symptoms at all.
Some women complaint that the asthma symptoms get worse during their periods, this may be because of the hormone change in the body.
From studies it is found that UK has one of the highest number of asthma affected people in the world. Approximate 2,000 people die every year because of asthma. Major population of children have asthma. If at any point of time you feel that the symptoms of asthma are getting worsen then you need to immediately contact your general practician and get consultancy on the problem. Preventive measures need to be taken in such cases because this may cause a severe attack if preventive measures against asthma are not taken.
From observations it is seen that asthma or such disease are part of inheritance. Smoking during pregnancy increases the chance of having asthma right from child-hood. People having hay-fever or allergic rhinitis disease also have the tendency of developing asthma within themselves. It is observed that nearly 80% of people suffer from asthma if they already had hay-fever or allergic rhinitis as diseases.
