There are many other products along with washing powder used in household cleaning which can cause an allergic reaction.
Washing powder contains many chemicals which may not suit your skin. There are various reasons for that one of them is sensitive skin. When such detergents get in contact with the skin your skin shows an allergic reaction. Many strong chemicals and detergents leach grease from the skin causing a simple irritant eczema. Detergents sometimes may cause more severe eczema or dermatitis.

  • Prescription medication: Medicines like steroids and antihistamines are given to the patients suffering from detergent allergy.
  • OTC remedies: Coal tar, emollients, steroids
  • Alternative remedies: aromatherapy, Bach flower remedies and homeopathy

If your skin is sensitive and you want to figure out if you are allergic to washing powder (i.e detergent), try out different brands of detergents, try out organic products figure out what suits your skin. If non of detergents suit your skin then try following traditional methods like using vinegar, lemon juice, salt and so on.
