Discoid | nummular eczema

If you already having atopic eczema allergy then there are high chances of you also having discoid or nummular eczema. These are big red patches which normally occur on the truck of the body or lower legs. These big red patches occur from 4cm to 10cm in size. The person having discoid which have a itchy skin. This big red patches are infected by bacteria.

The area occurring around the patches are normally swollen. The appearance of nummular eczema is quite similar to ringworm. If you take any treatment from any doctor, he will suggest to perform some diagnostic tests, to find out if the infection is ringworm or eczema.

Discoid becomes more worse in winter. Dry air or low humidity causes the eczema to even more worse the situation. It is advised to keep the skin oily by applying appropriate skin moisturizers and installing a humidifier to keep the air within the room humid.

Eczema may be caused by an allergy to bacteria. Your doctor may prescribed antibiotics for treating eczema.
