Did you know that the paint or varnishes that you choose to decorate your homes contain many harmful chemicals? Not only that these paints emit such toxic fumes not just for one or two months but for more then fifteen years. It is very common to find volatile organic components (VOC) in products like paints, varnishes which are very harmful. These solvents emit irritating smell for long time. Oil based paint contain more VOCs than water based paints. Many paints contain metals like lead, brass, copper, zinc etc.
Glycol ethers are as harmful as pentachlorophenol. These are some fungicides that are used for wood-treatment.
Ecological paints does not contain heavy metals like lead, brass, copper, zinc etc nor glycol ethers. There are many anti-allergic paints and varnishes available which are absolutely free from VOCs. Now days there are also lead free paints available.
While choosing adhesives choose vegetable adhesives, these adhesives are free from solvents.
Things to remember while decorating your home:
