Inflammation
It is said to be inflammation when the we observe the tissue turning red. Sometimes it is also observed that the tissue even turn hot, painful and swollen. The inflammation takes place because of the leek of blood vessels. The flow of the blood to some areas are increased and this causes redness and heat of tissues. Inflammation occurs because of the release of histamine from the body. There are some mis-conceptions in people mind that infection and inflammation is same, but in reality it is not. Infection is caused due to bacteria. Inflammation is response to the stimulus caused by the outside organism in the body. Inflammation can be of two types, acute or chronic. The immediate response to harmful stimuli is called acute inflammation, were as the slow but continuous process of inflammation is called chronic inflammation. Immune system have a very important role to play in any cause of inflammation. If inflammation is not considered seriously and not treated properly and on time then it may lead to hay fever, atherosclerosis and rheumatoid arthritis.
Inflammation can be caused or triggered due to burns, physical injury, chemical irritants, hypersensitivity, skin allergy, coming in contact with dermatitis or having food allergy etc. Other symptoms of inflammation are itching and rashes.
Emollients, antihistamines corticosteroids are some of the medicines given for curing inflammation.
