Vomiting
Vomiting happens when the body feels some unwanted waste to be removed from the body. The stomach contents are removed through the mouth. There are many reasons why vomiting happens, it can be because of the junk food, food poisoning, pregnancy, overeating etc. Some people vomit just after having food. People vomit when they suffer from diarrhoea. Abdominal pain and swelling, angioedema, gastric upset, headaches, migraine, nausea, wind are some of the other symptoms observed along with vomiting. It is seen that baby vomits if the food eaten is not digestible by it. Always need to maintain hygiene while cooking food. Children are affected immediately and they start vomiting. During pregnancy, women vomits not because of sick, but it removes the toxic wastes from the body and prepare a clean environment for the baby to grow.
Some pungent smell can trigger to vomit, other than that, beer, egg, pork, food color, preservatives, anti-caking agents, antibiotics, frusemide, aliphatic hydrocarbons etc are some of the triggering elements which causes vomiting.
Treatment for vomiting
- Oral re-hydration is one of the OTC remedy.
- Antihistamines, phenothiazines and metoclopramide are some of the prescribed drugs.
- Eating yogurt helps suppressing vomiting.
- Drink water to avoid dehydration.
